A Friendly and Enthusiastic Customer Service Retail Associate for our R/C Hobby store.

(Clarification- “R/C” means: Remote Control or “Radio Control” surface vehicles, primarily cars, trucks, and some boats. These are premium 70mph performance machines, not toys.)
The nitty gritty:
Positively engage with retail R/C customers, answer their questions and needs. Offer constructive feedback and guidance for customers making new purchases and experienced customers alike. This involves learning product features and details, but primary focus is to actively engage customers with a smile.
Each day also includes Retail store activities such as re-stocking, labeling, sorting, and cleaning.
Primarily a standing, show room role. The Associate will need to be able to physically stack, sort and move product for stocking/ labeling. Some intermittent moving of products may be up to 40lbs. (Similar to a large bag of dog food in size and weight.)
A required task example: A 40 pound box of new items is received via shipping carrier. Associate must move, open, and sort through the box contents and confirm the delivery is accurate and matches the purchase invoice in detail. The Associate will then label the received parts and correctly restock those items individually in a variety of locations in the showroom, designated storage areas, and allocate items specifically for customer pre-orders. Associate will then call, email and/or text those customers to notify them via excellent communication skills.
Associate must be able to focus and master on specific details. (A part number “3535” is different from part number “3535X.”) Must be able to read, write and speak English at a proficient level appropriate to professional daily business tasks.
Associate must have Windows PC computer skills to enter invoices, search computerized inventory system, lookup and refer to product info online in closed systems and the Internet.
The Associate must be able to perform basic cashier and math skills, run a CC terminal and cash drawer accurately.
Associate must have the existing ability (or the capability to quickly learn) to complete minor mechanical and electrical repairs on R/C vehicles. Basic knowledge and operation of hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, soldering iron is required.
Several times a year, associate will lead and participate in off-site events for demonstrations, exhibitions, and Fun R/C related events.
We are open on Saturdays, and will prefer applicants who are willing to work on a variety of days, including weekends.
