Nurglings grow inside the swollen bowels of a Great Unclean One, feed on the filth of their parent, and eventually pop out fully formed as the walking personification of a burst boil. Their teeth are razor sharp and their bites are rarely fatal on the spot, which is rather the point: what they leave behind is a long and thoroughly unpleasant decline.
The kit builds three swarms, each a tottering stack of the things in front, middle and back ranks, all of them saturated in sores and lumps and openings that ought not to be there. The poses are characterful, and most of the character is revolting.
The kit comprises 16 plastic components in total, and there are loose individual Nurglings left over for basing other models in your army.
You will also need plastic glue and paint to finish this kit. Warhammer Colour, formerly Citadel Colour, is what Games Workshop recommends.
Nurgle players in either system: Chaos Daemons or Death Guard in Warhammer 40,000, Maggotkin of Nurgle in Warhammer Age of Sigmar. Swarms are cheap, awkward to shift, and good at sitting on something the enemy wants.
The spare Nurglings are the quiet reason to own this box even if the swarms never see a table. A Nurgling peering out from under a Plague Marine's boot is the sort of detail that ties a whole army together, and there are enough here to do it repeatedly.
