About This Truck

The Traxxas Maxx Slash® is a 1/8 scale 6S brushless short course truck — the Slash lineage scaled up to Maxx proportions with a purpose-built all-metal drivetrain, belted tires, and 70+ mph capability. It ships fully assembled and Ready-To-Race® right out of the box.

• ⚠️ Battery charger NOT included — Traxxas EZ-Peak® Live Dual 4S charger (2973) recommended
• ⚠️ 4 AA alkaline batteries required for transmitter — not included

Recommended additions: Dual 3S LiPo Completer Pack with EZ-Peak Dual Charger (2990) — everything you need to run at full power, bundled together. For telemetry on your phone, add the Traxxas Link Wireless Bluetooth Module (6511), sold separately.

Who It's For

Skill Level 4 — this is a high-performance vehicle for experienced drivers. 6S brushless power demands respect; TSM helps manage it but won't make it beginner-friendly. Equally at home on the backyard, the bash track, or a dirt oval — the waterproof build and long-travel suspension handle whatever surface you put it on.

Does this come with a battery and charger?

No — batteries and charger are sold separately. For full 6S performance, Traxxas recommends dual 5000 mAh 3S 11.1V LiPo batteries (with Traxxas iD® connectors) and the EZ-Peak Live Dual 4S charger (2973). The Dual 3S LiPo Completer Pack (2990) bundles both together at a discount.

How fast does it go?

70+ mph is achievable with dual 3S LiPo batteries and an optional pinion gear upgrade (both sold separately). Speed varies with battery choice — see Traxxas' battery and speed chart for this model for the full breakdown.

What batteries does it take?

Best performance: dual 5000 mAh 3S LiPo (6S total). Also accepts a single 4S 6700 mAh or dual 2S 7600 mAh packs with reduced performance. NiMH batteries are not supported. Battery compartment specs: 181 mm × 56 mm × 45 mm.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — fully waterproof. The ESC, motor, receiver box, and servo are all sealed for all-weather use.
