The 3956X is the steel 54-tooth 32-pitch spur gear (0.8 metric pitch) designed specifically for the Traxxas 6780 center differential. The steel construction is the key differentiator — where the plastic composite 3956R handles the 6814 center diff, the 3956X is built from steel for maximum durability in the higher-demand 6780 drivetrain. This is a narrow-fitment part — it is not interchangeable with the standard slipper clutch version (3956) or the plastic center differential version (3956R).
