The Hive Mind will throw a million gaunts at a problem, and when that is not the right tool it throws these instead. Imperial strategists call the result a Crusher Stampede: no swarm, no screen, just the largest bio-organisms the hive ships produce walking at you together.
A Neurotyrant with two Neuroloids provides the synaptic spine holding the rest together. The Screamer-Killer leads the charge and announces it. A Tyrannofex carries a living weapon, a Haruspex eats whatever it reaches, and a Maleceptor removes things psychically. Seven models, all of them large, which makes this an unusually fast box to assemble for its size.
Plastic glue and paint to finish these kits. Warhammer Colour, formerly Citadel Colour, is what Games Workshop recommends.
Three of the five kits build two ways, which is the real value here. The Tyrannofex becomes a Termagant-spawning Tervigon; the Haruspex becomes the artillery-piece Exocrine; the Maleceptor becomes the miasma-generating Toxicrene. The Tyrannofex itself chooses between a rupture cannon, an acid spray, or a fleshborer hive, and the Tervigon build picks between crushing claws and scything talons.
Tyranid collectors who already have the small stuff and need the heavy end, and anyone who would rather assemble seven big models than seventy small ones.
