Does this come with a battery and charger?
No — a battery and charger are sold separately. The Slash 4X4 VXL Ultimate accepts 2S or 3S LiPo batteries or 6–9 cell NiMH packs. The Traxxas EZ-Peak Plus (PN 2970) handles all of these. You'll also need 4 AA alkaline batteries for the transmitter.
What batteries fit this truck?
The battery compartment accepts packs up to 165 × 49.5 × 23 mm (or 25 mm with the tall hold-down). Compatible types include 2S LiPo (7.4V), 3S LiPo (11.1V), or 6–9 cell NiMH. Running a 3S LiPo with optional gearing unlocks the 60+ mph top speed.
How fast does it go?
With stock gearing and a 2S LiPo, expect strong performance in the 30–45 mph range. With optional gearing and a 3S LiPo (sold separately), the VXL-3s system is capable of 60+ mph.
Does the Traxxas Link app work out of the box?
Yes — the TQi radio and Wireless Module (6511) are both factory-installed. Download the free Traxxas Link app, connect your phone via Bluetooth, and you'll have real-time data on speed, battery voltage, motor RPM, and temperature as you drive.
