Layering is where a model stops looking basecoated and starts looking painted, and it lives or dies on brush control. The S Layer is handmade with pure sable drawn to a fine point, which is what lets you run a clean line along an armour edge without the stroke wandering. Small differences at this stage are the ones people notice from across the table.
Painters doing edge highlights, fine layer work, and detail on faces, weapons, and iconography.

A layer brush is built for control rather than coverage. Pure sable holds a finer point, which is what you want when the stroke has to land exactly on an edge.
Rinse it before paint dries in the ferrule, reshape the point after washing, and store it upright. Treated well it lasts a long time.
Yes. Order online and we will ship it, or pick it up at JackWagon R/C and Hobbies in Greeley, CO, where staff can walk you through which layer size fits your models.
